My life as I seek to offer Christian hospitality to both friends and strangers

About

Version 2 5/7/08: I realised that I haven’t updated my About page since I first started my blog back in Dec 2006. Lots has changed! See below to see the original page.

My name is Michele@Philoxenos, formerly known as MicheleinNZ. I am an American, living in America again after being overseas for nearly ten years. My husband is a Kiwi (New Zealander) and my three children, ages 4, 2, and 1 are Ameri-Kiwis.

I am a stay-at-home mom to Precious, Cutie, and Little Boy.  I love music, reading, cooking, and clean floors. However, I’m a bit adverse to cleaning them myself :)

I am a born again follower of Jesus Christ and I’m looking forward to heaven. I’m sure the floors are clean there ;)

Version 1: My name is Michele, commonly known as MicheleinNZ in the internet-world. I actually started out my internet identity back in 1998 as MicheleinKorea because that’s where I was living at the time. When I moved to New Zealand I changed it :) If I move countries again I wonder if I’ll change it?

I am the wife of one man, mother of three children (the third is due in March 2007), a follower of Jesus Christ, a lover of music and books. I garden only out of necessity and find that anything that grows is mostly purely on accident rather than on purpose, despite how many gardening books I’ve read! I’m fast approaching my 30th birthday which doesn’t scare me a bit, although I have noticed that my gray hairs are trying to outnumber my efforts.

What you see is what you get. I try desperately to be real and find that as I get older this quality is appreciated a lot more than when I was in high school. The more I learn to walk in God’s ways, the more I realise that I am so flawed.I think that’s a good place to be, really. If I thought I could do it on my own I’d be completely deluded, wouldn’t I?

Umm… funny little things about me: I love having a washing line full of cloth nappies, flapping in the breeze; Now that I make my bed everyday it sometimes makes me want to spend all day in the bedroom because it’s the tidiest room in the house; sometimes all I want to eat for dinner is a bowl of cereal; I drink a lot of water; I really like the movie How to Lose a Guy In Ten Days - spiritual huh?
