This post is really for my mom. Handsome is on the main computer and I want to send her an email but I need to put a bunch of links in it and this is the easiest way I know how.
I’ve been thinking about our new school year coming up. I think I told you that we’re going to start with our new curriculum some time in the summer, probably early July after VBS is finished. Starting over the summer gives us the advantage of being able to take our time and not stress about it. The curriculum we’re using, Sonlight, uses lots of real books so when it arrives it will come in a very large box, probably more than one.
As I was thinking about how exciting it will be to get all the books and how excited Precious will be to look through them and start to do school with them, I was thinking about Cutie and how she’s going to want to play with the books and look at them, just like Precious. But of course, we both know what the result will be - books left out, books accidentally torn, and two little girls fighting over them.
So, I was thinking about putting together a box of ’school’ stuff for Cutie. She can open up her box just like Precious does and when Precious has her school time and gets out her school books, Cutie can get out her box and play with her things too. What do you think?
I know how much you love to buy things for the kids so I’d like to guide your summer purchases a bit and see if you’d be interested in contributing to the school box for Cutie. Below are some of the things that I’m thinking about. Obviously you’re not limited to these things but it’s a good place to start. I want to buy some quality things that aren’t going to break easily and that are a bit more open ended (meaning they can be used in different ways).
And if any of my other blog readers happen to want to buy some school stuff for my kids, let me know!
Thanks, Mom. We can talk more about this later if you want.
Training scissors (she’s having a really hard time getting the hang of cutting)
and of course things like paper, finger paints, stickers, things like that. And BOOKS! Ask me for a list if you want to buy books.
